Banya
with Danesh Oleshko
Banya is a Russian steam ritual that's been practiced for centuries. It's hotter than a standard sauna session, and the centerpiece is the venik: a bundle of oak or birch leaves, soaked and used to gently strike the skin. It sounds intense. It mostly feels like being brushed with warm wet leaves while the steam works on you.
Danesh Oleshko runs our Monday Banya sessions. He's a licensed therapist who grew up around the tradition and has been practicing it for years. He'll guide the heat, the steam pours, the venik work, and the cold plunge between rounds.
You don't need to know anything going in. He'll walk you through it.
